Make music in May and be part of the national movement to promote music and its links with good health!
Register to participate and add your efforts to Making Music Being Well 2012. All you need to do is schedule some sort of music event at your school, workplace or in your community - it can be something you know you’ll already be doing during that week - and we will send you brochures, posters and lots of support to help you promote your event in your local community. You can add your event/s to our national What’s On listings and know that you are part of an initiative in which, all over Australia, people are stepping up to advocate for more music making: because it’s good for you!
Making Music Being Well happens each year as a collaboration between Music: Play for Life and the Australian Music Therapy Association. Participation in Making Music Being well has grown ten-fold since it's inception in 2006. From mass sing-alongs to uke playing, music jams, open mics sessions, rehearsals, playground activities, drumming - the benefits of music-making are truly heard and celebrated around the country by the old and young, able and not-so-able.
The benefits of music are used by music therapists in hospitals, schools, community organisations and nursing homes. Read more.
